Landry's Lesson Plan...

Well, today was supposed to be the first day of school, but Harvey had other plans! This will definitely be a first week of school to remember! Landry's favorite activity every night has been reading the lessons that her nearest and dearest sent her for school. I'm posting here so that I have them all in once place and also because some of these words, while for a kindergartener, are also things that we should learn over and over again!

Kindergarten Countdown (7, 6, 5, 4)...

The countdown is almost done... we are only THREE days away from the big day and I can't even deal. Next up on the list....

Practice our morning routine...

Hands down the least favorite item to check off... for every single one of us. My kids have yet to master the art of truly sleeping in, so we were still awake by 7:30am most summer days, but the fact that we had little to worry about for a routine even makes early mornings easier to handle. Monday we were back to business as usual... up, beds made, teeth brushed, clothes on, chores done... boo.

Dress for successs

She got to open the last gift and she was pretty darn excited about the size of that box.

She was less excited when she discovered that it was maybe filled with clothes that she had already seen...including some for her brother and sister. Ha!

She loved her new polka dot shorts from Gigi though and surprisingly, Radley was the most excited about all of it! (Maybe we should buy him some clothes more often.)

Daddy Day

Ryan took off this week to spend some extra time with the kids before school. (Ironically enough, I had a dental procedure gone wrong and spent Wednesday and Thursday home, too...ugh!) They went to fancy places like the mall...

Wednesday he took them fishing and Emmy was voted "best caster"...

Meet the Teacher

Goodness, the day I think we had ALL been waiting for! Landry FINALLY got to meet her teacher! She's been way more nervous about school than I expected her to be and we've all been doing our best to pump her up and get her excited. I think meeting her teachers eased some of her fears and let us all breathe a little sigh of relief... she has Ms. Vega and Mrs. Newland..

Radley met his teachers on Monday...he's so excited about "the legend" Mrs. Mendoza and Mrs. Cook...

Emmy could not be more excited to have Mrs. Gonzalez again and we've heard amazing things about Mrs. Brenner...

We are all ready for Monday to get here!

And took a picture **just in case** Harvey has different plans for Monday!

Kindergarten Countdown (10, 9, 8)...

Landry's official countdown to kindergarten started last Friday and we started with my favorite item...

Learning is Fun

Just like with Radley and Emersyn, we started the countdown with an amazing "lesson plan". Words of wisdom and encouragement from our nearest and dearest. Twenty people took time out of their lives to send Landry a little love and I can cry just thinking about it.

Each note has a special meeting and I'll post the full lesson plan later. I thought these words from KK are so important considering my thoughts on raising the change.

Love Jesus. Love others.

It's as simple and true as that.

Just Keep Swimming

School may only be nine days away but summer isn't over yet! We grabbed our besties and headed to the pool to get every last drop of summer we can!

Gear up for school

She was pretty darn excited about this day because she got to open THREE packages!

She picked her backpack and lunchbox out ages ago but I hadn't given them to her yet. I love how excited she was to open something she had been waiting for!

She couldn't wait to try that backpack on...I'd be excited if it stayed this color for the next five years!

And because I needed to see the comparison...

She also got an extra surprise for all those sleep overs that you attend when you go to school!

She was so excited about all her new goodies that she insisted on Rad and Emmy getting their gear out for a picture, too. And they love her enough to oblige...

8 days to go....

Kindergarten Countdown...

Y'all. In just 10 short days we are going to have THREE kids in school.
(and all the people said AMEN!)

Landry has been the least excited about going to kindergarten out of the Wee3Kings so I'm hoping her Kindergarten Countdown works some magic to build up that tear down those fears and build up that excitement.

I LOVE making big deals out of big moments. Gifts and acts of service are my two major love languages so I show love by doing and giving. I also want the kiddos to know that school is something to celebrate!

I do my best to make sure that I am as consistent as I can be with the kids but when I saw Landry's piled of goodies compared to Rad and Emmy's well...

Ha!

Landry King... you are going to be the most amazing kindergartener! You are smart and strong and courageous and kind. You are going to have the BEST time with your new friends and teachers and we are all cheering you on!!!

Let the countdown to Kindergarten begin!!!

Emersyn's Kindergarten Lesson Plan...

Wanted a place to remember these words and share the lessons that we could all stand to learn from every now and then.
