Royally Waiting: End of summer

Hi.

My name is Katy and occasionally I pull it together enough to write posts when I am supposed to. For example, on Wednesdays Shelly, Holly and I host a link-up, except Shelly really hosts a link-up because for some reason me and Holly sometimes can't get it together. BUT... here we all are on a Wednesday excited to see what's been going on in your world!

As for us? I get time off each summer and the past seven weeks have been just what I needed. Spending time with family and friends, focusing on the kids, and doing nothing at all are a really great gift. It's just enough time to relax before I'm ready to strangle someone. ;) We have been busy the past three weeks ...

CELEBRATING

Today is my parents FORTY EIGTH wedding anniversary. 

Y'all.

Forty.eight.years. with someone that drives you crazy at least 30% of the time. Goodness, me. Thanks for being an example of sticking through the hard to enjoy all the good. We love y'all!!

This picture was from their 40th anniversary surprise party - for their 50th Pops is taking us to Italy...whether he likes it or not! ;) 

ZIPPING

We finally got the install guy to set up the zipline Santa dropped off which was actually perfect timing for the summer lull. 

CUDDLING

Frankie and Johnny are the stars of the King household. They are loved more than they probably want to be and are so patient with the kids and all of their friends. Love these "outside" cats. 

PIERCING

Some ears! You have to read the full recap of the piercing heard 'round the world. Definitely a night we will never forget!

DATING

Our kiddos! Every year we look forward to these back to school dates and every year I say that we need to do this more than once a year.

on three things.... 

1. These three to get home from camp so we can hear about all of their fun!

2. The Aggies to get back so we can officially kick off fall...

3. Us to hit the lottery so I can stay home alllll the time! ;)

Royally Waiting...

Welcome back to Royally Waiting... the day of the week where Holly, Shelly and I share the "what's been happening" of our daily lives. Also known as you getting a glimpse of how boring I am. This week is short and sweet... summer has kept us busy doing all the things and I have forgotten to capture just about all of it. My children are currently staying up much to late (again) and my eyes are quickly closing so here we go... 

CELEBRATING

This amazing friend of mine celebrated a milestone birthday so we headed to the lake for some beers with the besties! I love our story of friendship, the daily crazy that we share and the next 40+ years of fun we will have!

The Munson celebration continued with Annaliese! She had a paint party with thirteen girls so I stayed to assist Cindy and Josh manage the crazy.

All of Rad's friends were out of town or busy with family so he got to tag along. HAHAHA - he was clearly welcomed to paint but 2 hours of uninterrupted time on his ipad won. 

We headed back to the lake for Anna's actual birthday and as sad as I get thinking about them growing up, I also did not have to get in the water unless I WANTED to so score one for old(er) kids!

LOSING

Emersyn FINALLY pulled that super loose top tooth. And looks like she aged 12 years. 

STUFFING

My face with left over carnitas migas. ALL the freaking yummy in the world ever. The end.

WAITING

Royally Waiting...

Goodness, how is it already Wednesday?!? Shelly, Holly and I are glad that you are joining us for another week of sharing what's going on in your world. I feel like this summer season is FLYING by y'all...we are trying to keep our days as simple as we can ... lots of swimming followed by lots of reading. Radley (re)read book 5 from Harry Potter in 3 days - 870 pages.

I just finished The Nest...

My thoughts: Easy read, good story, okay ending. (I mean... I need good endings and this one had me all "WHAT THE WHAT?!" which some people love .... me? Notsomuch).

After Shelly's amazing review, I picked up November 9 at the library... I'm three chapters in and LOVING it.

And y'all... I can't WAIT to read the next book on my list...

After having read Melanie's first three books and quickly becoming besties with her and Gulley, I was thrilled when she announced she was writing three more books. This first one sounds like something my heart and soul will both adore. And if I wasn't already excited enough, I got this little diddy in my inbox today...
