A haunting we will go...

If you are here from Kelly's Korner - welcome!

I must confess that I am not an over the top Halloween mom. But, I do think that our last few years of costumes have been super cute...

2010: UPS Man and his special delivery
(My husband works for the company)

2011: Superheros

I did make the capes, but don't be fooled - it's just hot glue and wonder under! We were expecting baby #3 so I had a "sidekick", too!

2012: Star Wars
Our son has a little obsession so his sweet sisters get to join in the fun, too! And our friends at the Hot Mess Munsons are joining in the fun. The idea was actually lead by their Sweet Caroline - a SW expert!

This is what happens...

When your kids want to play dress up...

and absolutely insist...

on taking a picture of the "WHOOOLE fameee"...

by two parents that aren't that great with the delay setting on the fancy camera.

Our southern bell...

Super RAD hero...

And, well... the cutest mess you've ever seen!

Landry laughs...

May her giggles warm your heart as much as they do mine....

(and please disregard my "mom" voice)

U-S-A....U-S-A...

So we have been doing what all other blue blooded Americans (what does that even mean btw?) have been doing these days... eating a quick, somewhat healthy dinner and then tuning into the Olympics.

The majesty of it all has two future Olympians pretty excited. They LOVED the diving. So much so that we set up a "pool" in the living room and let them compete.

Radley had to take few warm up dives...

And Emmy wasn't too convinced that she should jump into the pool...

And our judge was too busy drooling to give out scores.

Then things got serious.

:)

All of a sudden he told us to "stop!" Off came the clothes and then he was ready...

The form.

That accuracy.

Perfect 10!!
(or whatever crazy scoring system they are using these days)

Then it was time for "sibling synchronized diving".

They took home the gold!

My favorite part?

Radley noticed that the divers from Mexico were counting to three in Spanish.

So, he did, too.

Uno.
Dos.
Tres!

Emmy thought that was HI-larious.

Yes, perfect 10s all around!!

Itty bitty Betty Crocker...

Emmy got to spend all day on Thursday with me and Landry at home. She had her two year pictures with the lovely Sarah Giles that morning and it didn't make any sense to send her to school. It was the first of many days with "the girls"! :)

{Side note: I can't tell you how excited I am about these pictures - they are going to be ADORABLE!!}

We have "brinner" (breakfast for dinner) almost once a week. It is one of our favorite meals and varies from pancakes to biscuits to casserole. This night I was making blueberry, banana and plain pancakes, cheesy eggs and grits. Emersyn was very eager to help me mix the pancake batter so I gave her a bowl of her own.

Remember all those distractions I was talking about? Well, add flour, plastic bowl and spoon to the must have list.

She had the best time helping me and was so proud of herself.

She kept looking up and saying "Help Mommy! See!"

She must have emptied that bowl 5 times at least.

But I didn't mind cleaning up her mess. I have to thank my mom for giving me a **tiny** bit of a relaxed attitude in the kitchen. No mess is too big for her - she let us go crazy as kids. And while I may be slightly more rigid than that - I love watching them explore through cooking.

And when we were done, we had 3 bowls of some of the yummies pancake batter you've tasted!

Love my sweet girl (and her crazy bed head)!

Gawgle, gawgle...

Emmy is obsessed with brushing her teeth.

Ob.Sessed!

She loves it and insists on doing it herself with "Emmy turn! MY turn!" being heard through Daddy/Mommy brushing crusades. We usually do a good brush and then let her go for a while (she actually does pretty good).  Recently Radley added mouthwash to his brushing routine and Miss Emersyn noticed and wants nothing more than to "gawgle, GAWGLE" just like her big brother.

She will brush, then blow bubbles, then very daintily spit, then "gawgle".

This video is kinda long, so watch if you like, but it really is too cute not to share!

And, I posted Miss Landry's 2 month stats if interested!
;)

Matching madness...

I **think** we are all set for coordinating in the hospital...

I am done now.
Probably.

It's a sickness really.

Make it stop.

Whoville...

For some reason, my children turn into little Whos during bath time...

 Emmy's hair is crazy long!

Aren't they funny?  Ryan has taken over bath duty since the belly kind of limits bending.

I think the kids like it - maybe this will become permanent "Daddy Duty".

The aftermath...

The aftermath of Christmas is always interesting.

Parents are frantically trying to organize toys, kids are all hopped up on sugar and Christmas goodness, and  the fridge is overloaded with items that only appear once a year.

It's a MESS!

But in all that chaos some magical moments appear, too....

Allow me to introduce Emersyn the Great...

And Magnificent Rad...

He pulls off a wedge rather nicely, don't ya think?

;)

A mile in Mom's shoes...

When I was little I used to love to play in Mom's shoes. I can distinctly remember two pairs: a platform wedge with cork board that are completely back in style but unfortunately no longer with us and a shiny pair of red high heels that I was going to wear to prom with a white dress and red bow. Ha!

Well the other day I caught two cuties playing in MY shoes...

He did pretty well! And his feet took up half the shoe. I know I have freakishly small feet, but it makes me sad that he is growing up so fast!

He did have them on the wrong feet, so that made me feel a little better. ;)

And look at Miss Priss!!!

She got two good steps in before she fell over. I didn't let her play too long - didn't need a twisted ankle.

She loves playing in shoes - mine, Ryan's, Radley's and hers. Whenever I get out her shoes for the day she instantly tries to put them on. We may be in trouble with her love for foot ware.

I guess every body loves a good shoe, huh?

Fish face...

The sun may have given Radley freckles but all this swimming seems to have turned Emersyn into a fish....

A little silly, but a whole lot of cute.

Vocabulary lesson...

I was flipping through a magazine the other day and came across this little gem:

I could not stop laughing -- not that I have any of these words in MY mom vocab or anything.

Which one could you use?

;)

Farewell friend...

For ten years now, you've been our friend
Driven us to Mexico and back again

You've seen some stuff in your many years
Crazy times, laughter and even some tears

You carried our stuff and our sweet kids, too
Sorry about all that stuff they spilled on you

A little rough on the edges, but you took care of us
A slight smell when it rained, but we can't really fuss

Ten good years and 150,000 miles
Ten years of memories and tons of smiles

You held up in rain, shine and snow, too
And we know your new family will take good care of you!

Bye Focus/ZiTS... you were awesome!
