Sweet baby Reed...

The girls and I made a day trip to Waco last weekend to meet Mr. Reed Ryan Galler.

I had to wait an entire week to snuggle with him thanks to a lice-a-geddon

The girls LOVED him. And he even gave them a smile.

We had so much fun snuggling him and are so happy that he is here!

We spent the rest of the day hanging out with Gigi and Pops. What a perfect day with my sweethearts.

Hometown Christmas...

We drove to Waco early on New Year's Day. "The plan" was to wake up, throw kids in the car (because it was already packed), grab breakfast and drive north. But it was New Year's Day. So everything was closed. Except Old MacDonald's or McNasty's as Gigi calls it. I really should just quit planning things.

We made it to my hometown in record time and got settled in. The kids and Ryan hung out at my parents house while I grabbed lunch with Lyndee and Jenni of the RaRa's. It was probably the best hour and a half lunch I had all year. Just time to breathe with your besties, buddies, first loves (you know what I mean). Laughing, chit chat, tears, discussing our husbands quirks, the usual. And dessert.

I even got a nap in that day. GLORIOUS.

We then devoured a delicious NY Day roast, potatoes, black-eyed peas, cabbage dinner at the granny hour of 5pm and then it was time to hit the town. Lyndee was booked for the evening but I wanted to go bowling so Jenni talked her crew into joining us and y'all.

It was a BLAST.

Landry was too small to actually bowl, but she sports the "bowler's belly" quite well, don't ya think?

And while the littles were taking breaks,

GiGi was quick to hold them.

Radley LOVES to go bowling. He has already requested that his 6th birthday party be at the bowling alley (which kind of puts a damper on the theme that I had "planned" but well, we've already discussed that).

Emmy's general rule of thumb these days is "I do it all by MYself!!" I am actually rolling my eyes as I type this. So all 24 pounds of her carried that 6 pound ball up to this handy dandy bowling ramp and did it. All by HERself.

SMH.

We also let Ryan do it all by himself, too.

Emmy did have a hard time actually reaching the top of the ramp, so she let "Ladley" (lad-lee) assist from time to time.

This series melts my heart.

The ball drops...

She waits in anticipation...

HIGH FIVE LADLEY!
(I really need to learn to take better pictures - sheesh. Focus, Katy. Focus).

And after the first ten frames, who was the winner?

Yep. Me.

For the first time ever.

The Kent's arrived to join in the fun. Aren't they just adorable?

And we got an extra surprise that the Echterling crew showed up, too! They were celebrating Grace's 6th birthday.  Courtney, Charis' little sister, just had Olivia 6 weeks ago so I worked in some cuddle time with her between frames. :)

Here are all of the Petite RaRa's (minus Mason)
Back Row from Left: Michael (16), Cousin Carter (6), Corbin (7), Brennon (13)
Front Row from Left: Cooper (almost 2), Gracee Jo (6), Landry (9 months),  Karli (5), Radley (5) and Emersyn (2)

I literally cried when I was snapping this picture. Lyndee and I met when we were Emmy's age. Jenni and I became besties when we were Gracee's age. And Charis movded to Robinson when she was Brennon's age. And now look at us. Look at THEM.

Dreams are made of this. Really. Who has best-friends for that long? Not just knows someone, but has best-friends - tried and true. The kind that will have your back no matter what. The kind that will drive to where ever you are just to give you a hug the day you lose someone. The kind that you have so many memories with you don't know if they are yours or theirs or both? The kind that forgives and forgets. The kind that you give your whole heart to and they never give it back.

The kind that go to baptism class at a Catholic church even though they aren't Catholic just so they can be your daughter's godmother.

The night was almost perfect. Just wish Lyndee could have been there.

My hometown Christmas ended at the place that we "grew up" one Friday at time.

We ended the year with Ryan's best buds and rang in a New Year with mine... I think that sounds like a tradition I could get used to!

Full Circle...

Time...don't let it slip away
Raise your drinking glass
Here's to yesterday...

In time...we're all gonna trip away
Don't piss heaven off
We've got hell to pay...

Come full circle

Kings Gone Wild...

Sunday brought more excitement our way with another day trip to celebrate a WILD birthday for Karli (Jenni's little girl). But our morning started out pretty calm with some tummy time for this princess...

And some puzzle time for these two...

Radley later informed me that MaMaw was the best puzzle doer ever. Quite a compliment. :)

Then we were on the road to meet up with these cuties at the Cameron Park Zoo for Karli's 5th birthday party. I've talked about the RaRas before and these 3 kiddos are nine months apart total. Jenni, Charis and I had babies all in the same year. Grace (far right) is oldest followed by Karli and then Radley. They have so much fun together and days like Saturday made me wish we all lived on the same street so they could play all the time.

The Cameron Park Zoo is the perfect size for small children. They can easily walk the Park and not get tired and they have a great playground complete with splash pad in the middle. They have the big animal attractions including tigers, lions, elephants, bears and giraffes. Highly recommend if you are close to Waco.

Landry liked it so much that she was even awake for some of it!

And Emersyn kept right up with the big kids walking much of it herself or talking Daddy into carrying her. (Which meant the double stroller we borrowed from the HMMs was empty all day).

Wasn't long before she gave in and fell asleep :)

We also got to hang out with this little man. Mason is almost 1 year to the day younger than Emersyn. He belongs to the 4th RaRa, Lyndee and is just adorable.

Emmy, Cooper and Mason were all born within a year of each other. After we took this crew home (Grace and Charis had to leave early) we held an impromptu shrimp boil at Lyndee and Ryan's.

What a yummy ending to a perfect day two of our long weekend! After all that we jumped back in the car with the sunsetting behind us for the quick(ish) drive home.

Two days of going and going left the two biggest kids (me and Ryan) completely exhausted but that back seat didn't stop chattering the whole time. But that's okay because we all slept late (almost 7:30am!!) on Monday! :)

Splish splash weekend fun...

Wow! Is the weekend already over!?!? I need time to stand still or summer is going to be over in a SPLASH! (see what I did there?)

These two tots are growing up fast! The started swim lessons on Thursday and are future Olympic athletes for sure. I was so proud of both of them! Not only for their mad skills, but for listening, taking turns, trying new things and just being pretty darn cute.

Although Radley apparently inherited Ryan's inability to smile outside. ;)

Collin gave the tikes their lessons. He is one of my favorite former students and the oldest of FIVE kids. I swear I have asked him for parenting advice! He is just great with kids and just happens to be an awesome swimmer himself. Radley loves it when any "big guy" gives him attention so he was on his best performing behavior.

We will take lessons on Tuesdays and Thursdays in June...maybe by the end we will have mini-swimmer. :)

We had so much fun at the pool on Thursday that we went again early Saturday morning. (Please again note that his eyes are closed. We took this picture 7 times and I look the same in all of them. Emmy was more interested in her feet in the water and Rad just couldn't keep them open. Humph.)

This girl was FEARLESS. Seriously, she would have crawled herself under if we let her. She loves the water! I may have to throw her in those lessons, too!

(And for the record, this momma is ridiculously jealous of her child's tan. Period.)

One eyed Radley?

Loving the slide!

Ahhh! I could just eat her up!

After all that sun and getting things done, we drove to Temple to visit one of the RaRas, Lyndee and brand new baby Mason!! I am so thrilled for her and Ryan (her hubby). They are going to be the best parents and he is just a doll!

From Temple we headed to Waco to celebrate Karli's 4th birthday on Sunday! I can't believe that we have "four year olds". I just want to cry. They are so grown up and just kids...not babies. :(

Speaking of birthdays.... this little girl turns ONE tomorrow.

I can't stand it. Make it stop!

Tons of posts to celebrate are in the works. This week is going to be tons of fun!

Ra Ra...

Another {petite} Ra Ra is headed our way....

So glad to have these women in my life! From dance class as two year olds, to first grade lunch buddies, 8th grade arrivals, high school, college, marriage and children. We've celebrated, we've cried, we've rejoiced and mourned... we can fight and giggle in the same 5 minutes.... we can let our guard down while shielding out the world. We support, we carry on... we argue like sisters and love like best-friends.

Motherhood is just the next step in our crazy journey! Lyndee, can't wait for you to experience all that being a mommy means! We love your guts!
