Style Me Stella...

I'm pretty sure that we have established that I am not a fashion blogger. For several reasons that include...

1. My lack of selfie skills
2. My lack of flat-lay skills (I don't even know how to spell that word)
3. My lack of energy (Y'all... the planning that goes into posts is exhausting!)

Fashionistas. Fashion Bloggers. Fashion Gurus. Fashions Queens.

I salute you!

All of that to say, I was kind of excited when my friend Jennifer approached me about her new Stella and Dot adventure. I should probably add "hopeless with accessories" to the list above if I'm being honest and not because I don't enjoy/appreciate a good statement necklace... more because I wear the same three all the time!

Jennifer loves an accessory and she also loves telling people what to do helping people find their best look so this new venture is perfect for her. She let me pick out some pieces from what she has from the new line and y'all... I am pumped!

Quick confession: I don't have my ears pierced. Well, I had them pierced but that quit working out my senior year in college. I also have freakishly small wrists so bracelets aren't my favorite. So basically I wear necklaces. But don't let that stop you from looking at the line, because there are some amazing items!

Here's what I selected:

Here's some plans for styling them...

(remember what I said about a flat lay)

(and don't judge because I took these on my phone with no natural light in the room)

(Carla Tassel and Chevron Bracelet)

(Sutton Necklace and Chevron Bracelet)

(Jacqueline Lariat)
ps. I think this necklace would be AWESOME worn backwards if you had a backless dress

(Sutton Necklace - extended and Chevron Bracelet)

I'm excited to get some wear out them the next couple of weeks and try different styles. Most of these necklaces can be worn at least two ways so if you think about that,  your price/piece goes down. Browse Stella and Dot's page to get an idea of what you may want and then you can join our "party" beginning THURSDAY at 7pm!

As always, the more the merrier! They have a big sale coming up so now is a perfect time to order! The party will be open for three weeks - so you have plenty of time to shop!

Which look do you like best? I'm dying to get the York Necklace so I can try out a few different looks!

Wild for Warby

I may have mentioned this before, but I am the world's worst blogger. I ordered some Warby's WEEKS ago so I could review their new summer line of specs and then I  clearly dropped the dang ball and never wrote a post. So, while this is later than intended, I'm not getting paid, I'm using all my own opinions and well, it's my blog so I'll review when I want to.

(You are now singing that song, I hope.)

Let's start by me saying I love glasses. LOVE love LOVE glasses. I just prefer them to contacts for lots of reasons but since I don't have any prescription sunglasses and Texas is about an inch away from the sun, I'm usually in my contacts. So, since I'm in a constant search for some great sunglasses, this was the perfect opportunity.

If you aren't familiar with Warby Parker, then allow me to introduce you. They have a great story about how and why they got started, but let's skip to my favorite part:

Almost one billion people worldwide lack access to glasses, which means that 15% of the world’s population cannot effectively learn or work. To help address this problem, Warby Parker partners with non-profits like VisionSpring to ensure that for every pair of glasses sold, a pair is distributed to someone in need.

Yep. For a RIDICULOUSLY reasonable price, you can get some awesome specs and help someone in need while doing it AND looking cute.

#winning

I like this option because I do rotate contacts in for various reasons and my insurance only covers one or the other each year. WP allows me to see and be stylish. And this isn't even the best part.

All those pictures you just scrolled through? Well, they were sent directly to my house FREE of charge for FIVE whole days as part of their home try-on program. They send you five frames that you select for five days and cover the shipping both ways. And if that wasn't enough - if you don't like any of them, you can choose five more.

And if that wasn't enough? They have AMAZING, top-of-the-line, incredible customer service! How incredible?? Well, you may want to sit down, but... REAL LIVE people ANSWER THEIR PHONES.

I know. CRAZY!!!

Okay, now to my top four picks...

1. Leighty Striped Sassafras - I should pick this on the name alone. I don't really need new eyeglasses but I do LOVE these.

2. Banks Sea Smoke Tortoise - I think these ended up being my favorite. I'll admit that I wasn't aware the prescription sunglasses cost more than the eyeglasses. $95 is steal and $175 isn't awful, but it's a little harder to pull the trigger.

3. Lowry Jet Black Matte - These looked much cuter online. They were light - kind of felt like all the promo glasses apartment complexes give out. Not a winner for me.

4. Madison Rum Cherry - Total second place. I like the red, but the shape of the Banks has me all heart-eyed.

What do you think? There are tons of others that I love but they weren't available for the home try-on. I may need to find a store, or just fly to Boston. Because that makes sense. :)

Have you tried Warby Parker? If yes, do you love them? If no, will you now? Tell me!!!

All the Ponchos...

Hi. I'm Katy. And I need a poncho intervention.

It's true. I am obsessed with ponchos - they are functional. They are cute. They are FORGIVING (y'all leggings (aka stretchy pants) covered by a FLOWY poncho - this is the thing Thanksgiving dreams are made of!). They are cute.

Yeah - I'd say I love them. AND -  anytime I love something this much I feel like it's my duty to share this love with all of you. (technically the one on the far right isn't a poncho, but it's close).

Here are a few of my favorite finds...

1. The exact poncho I'm wearing in the first pic - Cowl Poncho from Cabi. Love it so much, super soft, keeps you warm but isn't so heavy that it's unbearable.

2&3. This is the Mara Reversible Ruana Wrap from Charming Charlie and I LOVE it. You can dress things up with the black or go for a more casual look with the gray. AND it's on sale for $25!

4. This is a Cabi LookAlike from Target. Currently on sale for $17.99 and comes in FOUR color options. #yesplease It doesn't have the detail on the front but it also doesn't have an extra "1" in it's price either. (Target is rocking the poncho game this year).

5. I adore this cable knit option from Old Navy and bonus that it's maroon. It's a little pricier at $45, but you're worth it. ;)

6. And finally one more from Old Navy that just so happens to coordinate with a poncho that I bought the girls...

I know. Seriously too cute for my brain to comprehend. And **bonus** they are easier to pull on and off than a coat or jacket. #parentingwin

There you have it - seriously buy one because they are cute. They are functional. They are fabulous. They are fun!!!
