Bluebonnets and besties...

We had the BEST weekend that started on Friday since Ryan got to take the extra few days with us before the big shift at work. We went to a matinee, ate some lunch, took long naps, and enjoyed an rushed evening. Saturday morning, Ryan and Rad played golf and me and the girls got our nails done. Then we drug Gigi and Pops along to take some QUICK pics in the bluebonnets.

Rain is in the forecast for the next week and I wasn't sure if we would be able to get our annual pics done, so we literally drove 5 minutes down the road, promised the kids 5 minutes worth of picture taking before heading to lunch.

Not too shabby!

We then headed to Jason's Deli for lunch with the Munson/Brown clan to celebrate the birthdays of Caroline, Josh, Patsy and Don before going over to Brookside Manor for cake, ice cream and egg dyeing.

I'd say they lasted a good 25 minutes before not caring anymore.

We ended the evening by going to see The Promise at their church. We decided all the "bigs" were old enough to watch the story of Jesus' life so Millie and Landry got to stay home. I didn't expect to be so moved by sharing that moment with the kids, but I am so glad that we made that part of our Easter this year. I had been looking forward to Saturday all week and the day just did not disappoint one tiny bit.

InstaKings...

And here is a sneak peek at our life once again via my phone.

Let me break this down for you...
Kid 1: You try every cute holiday craft there is. You use special cake pans and fancy icing.
Kid 2: Home made cookies, regular cake but cute decorations
Kid 3: Pre-sliced egg shape cookies that you can't mess up.

But you know what... they didn't seem to mind!

I finally got tired of the books on my mantle, and as we were taking them down I started flipping through the covers. Y'all. 1890. This book was Ryan's great-grandfather's. We flipped through page after page and found some letters written to family members from WWI and WWII. Incredible. Can you even imagine the stories these books could really tell?

He gets home and starts twirling. Not sure how I got so lucky.
I am sure I don't tell him that enough.

For the past two weeks, my life was all Paw Print Festival all the time. Morning noon and night it was ticket selling, money counting, game planning. Luckily, we had some pretty cute helpers.

That called for some long days, so when you leave the house at 6:27am and you don't set foot in the door again until 7:30pm - everyone gets a treat for dinner!

The day finally arrived and it was PERFECT! We seriously could not have asked for a better Texas spring day.

These two were rocking the long tees, piggies and face paint look. I was jealous.

And then Landry literally played herself to sleep. I think she walked up to Ryan, he picked her up and she was out. That sounds kind of like an amazing day of childhood to me.

And as if that wasn't enough fun - we also go to celebrate this sweet seven-year-old! Caroline is the leader of the RHM5 and God sure knew what he was doing to make her the role model for our other girls.

I'm embarrassed to admit that it took me this long to own a pair of chucks. I am not embarrassed to report that I fell in love fast. (These are the ones I got. Buy them now. I'm not even getting commission!)

What? This isn't what you wear for spring cleaning??

And that's us in an Instant!

Tiny Tales Thursday...

The girls had their Easter egg hunts at school today which meant they came home with 2 dozen eggs filled with candy and toys. As soon as we stepped into the door, they began sorting their treasures and begging me to eat the candy.

L: Can we have candy?
Me: Not yet - we are about to eat dinner.
L: When? (in the high-low-high tone)
Me: I don't know ask me later.
L: Can we have candy?
Me: Ask me later.

45 seconds pass

L: It's latah - can we have candy now???
