Frozen...

Some days I really pray for time to stand still. For life to always be just like it is. For my kids to stay 6, 3 and almost 2. (And if we're being honest for my wrinkles to never appear and my hair to stay brown).

I love their imagination right now. I love the 100s of questions Radley asks about new things. I love that he is funny and smart and forgiving of my flaws. I love the Emersyn is the best princess mommy in the world. That she thinks I'm beautiful without make up, and that I look fancy when I wear heels. I love that Landry can get all 4 of us to do whatever she needs without saying more than 2 words. That Emersyn holds her hand in the car. That the sound of the garage door opening is their favorite noise in the world, because it means that "DADDY'S HOME!!!!"

I LOVE our afternoons together. On this particular day it was just me and Radley - the day before he thought that we should freeze some water in various size and shapes of bowls so he could make the Frozen castle. And that it would be extra cool if we added a shark.

Because of course.

Like all good scientists, he made sure to document his research...

and even attempted to write it in Spanish.

(S = "si", meaning that particular part of the castle was in fact melting from the sun).

So, si, just like that Frozen castle... I would like time to freeze and keep things just as they are.

22...

LILLIAN LANDRY KING

you are

TWENTY-TWO MONTHS OLD

What?!

That means the next time I write an update, you will be two years old.

Not okay, young lady.

You are basically the funniest person I know.
You are so stinking independent - you don't really like help which makes getting you dressed pretty interesting, I have to trick you into thinking that you are doing it all alone.
You are lightening fast - it's hard to keep up with where you are at any given moment.
You are fearless - you climb the treehouse, the slide, the swing... with ease.
You LOVE being with big kids.

You are the girliest of girls, but don't mind getting dirty.
(As illustrated by this series of photos).
You are so silly and playful and full of energy.
You make THE BEST cheesy faces.
You now love being rocked before bedtime. You point to the chair and say "rock" and your Daddy and I fight to be the one to put you to bed so that we get Landry cuddles.

Radley and Emmy are your favorite. You HAVE to give them kisses before telling them "night night". You hold Emmy's hand when you aren't pulling her hair. You sneak into Radley's room, grab something from his treasure drawer that you KNOW is off limits and grin.

You crack us up with "Landry speak".

Happy = you want more food. (Maybe because it makes you happy to eat? Maybe because you made a happy plate?)
Hee go = "Here you go!"
Jakit - jacket. Mostly in a loud voice. And almost always repeated over and over when you are either handing Emmy her jacket or trying to put yours on. By yourself.
BYYYYYYYYYYEEEEEEEEEEEE - You've been saying "bye" for a long time, but now you YELL it. And I die laughing every time. It's hilarious.
Owwweee - This happens when you are getting your hair done. (Gigi would say it's payback)
Luh you - Love you.

Favorites:

Toys - Baby dolls. Flower and "itty baby" are your favorite. You like to steal Violet from Emmy to see if she will react. You also love that pink tutu.

Color - Pink. You love it. You OWN it. You don't like sharing anything with pink on it.

Person - Still me. :)

Food - Squeezies. And now that you have all access to them, we are in trouble.

Chore - The vacuum. You are obsessed. Anytime you hear us turn on the vacuum you SPRINT to yours "vacuum vaccccuuuumm" and help. Thanks, sweet girl.

Lovely Landry - you are the greatest. The perfect ending to our fairy tale. We love you so much and are so abundantly blessed by your joy each day.

Tiny Tales Thursday...

I promise we will get over the bug situation soon. I won't fill this blog up about insect speak. But for now, it's funny and the kids have had some funny one liners...

Emmy:
After a day of treatments and hair checking Emmy was off to bed, "Mommy?" "We don't got bugs anymore, right?"

Because she insists on being a good mommy... "Come here, Landry. Let me check your hair."

"Don't forget to rinse the brush!"

When she discovered her quarantined princess dresses in my closet, "Oh Mommy!!! There's my dresses!!! You going to wear them to work?"

Radley:
After a day of treatments, bug discussions and telling him how they got lice... "Soooo, I got lice from someone else and they got it from someone else and they got it from someone else.... but how did the FIRST person ever get lice?" (Inquiring minds want to know...)

We are bringing the girls' nap mats home every day as a precaution/preventive measure. Radley ran back in to grab them on Monday and Emmy's teachers looked kind of confused. Radley explained, "It's ok... I'm just grabbing her nap mat," whispering now, "you know, because of the lice?" The look on her uninformed face was priceless...she apparently didn't get the notification from the morning teachers.

Upon seeing every blanket, pillow, stuffed animal, cushion, doll, or other plush item in our bedroom... "OOOooohhh... that's where all our stuff went."

Landry:
Upon anytime I try to touch or examine her hair, "No, mine. No! No! No! Mine!"

Don't worry Landry, you can keep the bugs.

:)
