We hold these truths to be self-evident...

Today is a big day y'all.

Today will be hard.

And scary.

And frustrating as hell.

We all feel passionate. Or angry. Or confused. Or perhaps, as if we want to EAT ALL THE NACHOS. 

At the end of the day (or sometime in the next two weeks) we will have a new President of the United States of America.

Some will celebrate.
Some will not.
Some will laugh.

There will be tears of joy and pain.

At the end of the day, there will be a story that we will tell our children; and they their children after that. At the end of this day America will be forever changed. We will have a new future no matter the outcome.

I hope that our future is one direction....

You may choose another...

The point is...

No one is forcing us.
We get a voice.
An opinion.
A vote.

But you know what else we get to choose?

(And this is important...)




Ready?




We get to choose...

Our attitude.
Our joy.
Our capacity to love.

Yep.

We can be both things.

We can be ANGRY but we can also be respectful.
We can be DEVASTATED but we can also be ready to work.
We can be SHOCKED but we can also be supportive.
We can be CONFUSED but we can also be eager to learn.
We can DISAGREE but we can also extend a hand.

So, that's what I am committed to doing today.

Because I know these truths to be self-evident...

All men (and women) are created EQUAL.
We are ALL endowed by our creator with certain unalienable RIGHTS that include...

LIFE.
LIBERTY.
And the pursuit of HAPPINESS.


Remember that today. Remember that tomorrow. Remember that always.
