Tiny Tales Thursday...

Sharing is a constant lesson in this house. As mentioned, now that Emersyn is moving she seems to have only one direction: Radley's toys.

She can be on the other side of the house and hear him playing and in 2 seconds flat be by his side with her baby grasp on one of his treasures.

The other night as I was walking through the house picking up from the days activities, some things were a little more out of place than usual.

A leggo was in the trash.

A car was on top of our bookshelf.

A teething toy was under a table.

A train was under a couch cushion.

What was even more odd was these were all items that Emmy had been happily playing with... and I was under the impression that big brother was okay with finally sharing.

The next morning I asked Radley about these strange occurrences.

Me: Buddy, why were x toys all over the house?
Radley: I don't know.
Me: Well, wasn't Emmy playing with them? What happened?
Radley: Oh, she told me she was done. She not want to play anymore.

Wow... a talking 9 month old. I should call Oprah before her show goes off the air for good!

Tiny Tales Thursday...

I've mentioned that Radley has a good memory, correct? Well, sometimes this memory can back fire.

Emmy is a full-fledged crawler these days. She is NOSY and will literally crawl across our house on one of her "explorations." Baby-proofing may have to actually take place for her sake.

Well, along with this new found freedom, she is no longer interested in her toys because she has an all-access pass to big brother's treasures. If one of her toys is sitting next to one of Radley's then she will pick his up every time. The other day she picked up some of his cars and began to chew.

Ryan and I were watching and I made the off-hand comment, "We need to watch her, I don't want one of those tires to fall off and choke her." This statement was directed at Ryan and said in an almost whispered voice.

Two days later.

Emmy was playing with Radley's cars again and he quickly grabbed it away from her obviously not wanting to share.

Ryan: Buddy, let your sister play with your toys. Big brothers need to share.
Radley: {with added drama and larger brown eyes than usual} But, Daddy... I don't want her to choke on the tires.

Okay, buddy... that's it. We can't very well argue with that, now can we? ;)
