The Kings take Manhattan (pt 2)...

Day two started at the Applejack Diner which is located next to Niki and Joe's apartment. Radley was pretty pumped about his stack of pancakes.

Emmy was just excited to eat! :)

After some delicious comfort food (it better be for $11 pancakes), we headed to every kid's dream store -- FAO Schwartz! However, it didn't open until 10am! Luckily the park is across from the store, so we took some time to let some cuties I know run around...

Me and my little man - isn't he just adorable?!

Finally it was time for the store to open!!

And y'all.

Let me just say. If you are ever in NYC and have plans of going to FAO, get there when it opens. They do this whole little "show" where a toy soldier comes out and officially opens the store followed by a bugler making a grand march inside.

Then when you walk in all of the employees are in a line clapping and welcoming you inside. It was so fun!! The kids loved it - and I obviously did too!

Then it was time for the real fun - playing and shopping!

Each kid got to have one book and one toy. This includes Mak. I have actually been to NYC with each pregnancy and purchased their monthly picture animals at FAO Schwartz.

Radley at 7 months with his bear...

Emmy at 8 months with her elephant...

MAKs bear...

So happy that this became an unintended tradition! :)

Our first stop was to let Radley make a muppet.
(Note to parents: these were more expensive than I figured they would be - so make sure to do your research before promising a 4 year old his own muppet. We bit the bullet, but Ryan didn't get to make one and he was a little sad. ;))

Emmy wasn't so into the muppets.

While Radley's masterpiece was being created we wondered around the store to do some more playing/shopping. He loved the piano (and for the low price of $250K you can have one installed in your home)!

It took Emmy some time getting used to it.

And then Radley started getting creative. :)

And then she decided it was fun, too. Except since she doesn't weigh that much the lights didn't always turn on.

Then it was storytime.

May have been the best part of the "store" for me.

Radley sat front and center; "criss cross apple sauced" and listened and sang a long and answered questions. Most of the other kids did not.

Their nannies were very impressed with Radley. :)
At one point he may have corrected the story teller regarding the difference between a rhinoceros and a hippo - and he may have corrected everyone regarding how to sing "If you're happy and you know it".. .but he was cute and correct.

After storytime was over the sweet lady asked me if I would bring him back at 3pm.

Needless to say, we brought back a few more books.

Then it was time to pick up Mr. Silly from the muppet shop.

And then, well....

They were done.

It may have been the best lunch we had on our trip.
Me, Ryan, and some McDonald's with no noses to wipe, food to cut, etc.. They slept through it.
And Radley even requested a longer nap so I put him in bed at Niki's and then found him like this.
I guess he got cold.

After naps we were off to the American Museum of Natural History.

Radley was pretty excited when he saw this big guy!
"Look, Mommy - a Trex!"

Look at how well he impersonates animals.

Emmy liked the big feet ...
"feet, feet"
I heard that a lot.

I have a little tradition of taking a picture in front of the giant turtle.

And then they decided they could walk like a turtle, too.

Our last stop was dinner.

A big surprise that we headed out for pizza! (Ryan's favorite)

Radley got to hail his first taxi.

Mr. Joe was pretty proud.

I think once we made it back into the apartment and put pjs on, they were out in about 2 seconds flat.

Next up.. our last day in NYC....
