Happy Nine Month Birthday, Emmy!!
What have you been up to lately?!
You are an official crawler and we love it! Especially you! And Radley! You totally skipped the "army crawl" stage that your brother loved so much and pushed straight to your knees. You just crawl around and explore and love to chew on anything along the way (which means Mom needs to do a better job of keeping the floors cleaned). You are starting to pull up on things, but I'm in no rush for you to be walking just yet.
You nurse/drink bottles four times a day (although in the last week your eating habits have been less than desirable). You are starting to eat table foods and liked peas and chicken. You LOVE a saltine cracker and some bread. Fish and carrots were not your favorite. Puffs and sweet potatoes are still your favorites. I've been a little worried about you the past two weeks but keep telling myself that you will eat when you need/want to.
You are tiny. We have your well check on Thursday, but I'm guessing that you won't weigh anymore than 17 pounds. I guess you will just be a petite little doll. You can still wear some 6 month clothes, but are mostly in 9 months depending on brand. You wear size 3 diapers, but ONLY because "cruisers" don't come in a size 2. (A whole different blog post about my annoyance with the diaper company).
I will update the post on Thursday with your stats!
Update:
Height: 27 inches -- 35th percentileWeight: 15lbs 15 0z -- 10th percentile
Head Circumference: 44cm -- 50th percentile
So you are a tiny baby! You've actually lost weight since you've been sick but Dr. Henderson says there is nothing to worry about. We are going to give you about 10 more days of this sporadic eating and if you don't go back to normal, we will start the weaning process. His recommendation for rapid weight gain... hot dogs, avocados, and whole milk yogurt... a girls dream! :)
You've had a difficult month recovering from the flu. We've actually seen some tears from you, which is new to us. You have been teething like crazy and have had a harder time than we remember with Radley so I wish one of those little teethies would just pop through! (I didn't get my first tooth until 10 months, though.) You are still our sweet baby and are happy and smiley and just so cuddly. Strangers always comment on what a doll you are and it is true... you are just precious. Your hair is getting so long and your daddy is getting very talented at putting it in a ponytail.
You have mastered the art of saying "more" and "all done" when eating and L-O-V-E to play peek-a-boo! You will hold your "dots" up to your face and start to giggle and pull them down and just laugh! Radley is trying to teach you "itsy bitsy spider", too. I get such joy watching you learn and grow and discover.
You are always ready for the next thing and have brought so much love to our lives! Can't believe it's been nine months since you arrived! Where did the time go?!
We love you, baby girl!
