Tiny Tales Thursday...
Radley is an easy kid to put to bed - we do our prayers, snuggle for a second, sing "his" song, and kisses goodnight. But sometimes he uses this quiet time to ask Ryan or me the "big" questions in life. This can vary from the size of the planets, the origin of the trees, the purpose of body parts (to which his answer for one was "to pump, Mommy?" - I'll let you figure that one out), etc...
This week though, his sweet heart shined through once again as he was reflecting on Easter...
Rad: Mommy, why were [they] so mean to Jesus?
Me: ::don't mess this up:: Because they were afraid, baby. Jesus was saying things that [they] had never heard of.
Rad: Like what?
Me: Jesus talked about God - he was the Truth and the Light and it was hard for people to understand.
Me: Because they didn't know God.
Me: That's a great question, buddy....
Rad: But we know God - we always have - he's right here in my heart.
Me: ::holding back tears:: Yes, buddy. He sure is.
Rad: Love you, Mommy.
Me: Love you, too.
Thank you, Lord, we must be doing something right.
