Eighteen Months...

Emersyn King you are a YEAR and a HALF OLD!!

Oh my goodness, how did that happen?

So what have you been up to lately?

You are a busy girl - resulting in a ton of pictures of you running away laughing and chasing your brother. Whatever he is going you want to be doing and vice versa. He puts on shoes, you put on shoes. He eats cereal, you eat cereal. You climb on a table, he climbs on a table. I love it! (And am also a bit concerned thinking about the future of when we breaks curfew - you break curfew?)

We haven't been to the doctor for your mid year well check, but I predict that you are small. :) I'm guessing you weight maybe 21 pounds and I would guess about 31 inches tall. We will see!

Update:
Weight: 20lbs 6oz (wahoo...we broke 20lbs)
Height: 2ft 6.75in (So I was pretty close)

Still petite! :)

You wear mainly size 12-18 month clothes, but honestly can still fit into some of the dresses you wore last year - they would be shirts now and I don't put you in them, but I did try a few on. You are still in size 3 diapers and wear a size 3 or 4 shoe. However, those precious black boots you have on are a size 5 and slightly big. I am clearly teaching you at a young age that you should never sacrifice fashion for sense.

As Truvy says, "In a good shoe, I wear a size six, but a seven feels so good, I buy a size eight."

You are a champion eater. Pops recently introduced you to bacon and I think you are obsessed. Other interesting things you ate this month - an entire bowl of tomato soup (which was mine, but oh well), potato soup, pulled pork quesadillas, jalapeño bread, portabello mushroom pizza with goat cheese, and Cane's sauce. GiGi has you addicted to Dr. Pepper (not really, but you love it) so we have to hide our drinks so you won't take it all.

Makes me wonder how you remain so small. Enjoy the metabolism now, or pray you get your Daddy's!

Don't let all these cute smiles fool you. As seen by recent posts you have developed a bit of an attitude. When you decide you want something and don't get it you cry. If the wind shifts a bit to the east, you cry. If you see someone blink their left eye twice - you cry.

We all know, "it's just a phase" and we tell ourselves that a lot - but - if you could just go back to your normal sweet self we would appreciate it. Your brother also went through a fit phase, but that revolved around diaper changes so it was predictable and only short segments. You on the other hand, missy - you  throw fits. Like real ones. Legs kicking, back arching, toddler fits.

I admittedly have to leave the room to laugh and we deal with it by putting you in your crib to calm down, which does seem to work and you get glad just as quickly as you got mad. I think a lot of it has to do with what you are trying or want to communicate and we just can't understand you yet.

Speaking of communication, you are just chugging along at expanding your vocabulary.

Words you say frequently: Daddy (formerly dada), Mommy (formerly mama), Rad-ee (formerly RaRa), Mitch (as in our cat), Kasey (as in the dog), Hi, Bye, wawa (for any drink), eat, peeese (please), more, book, cat, tickle (complete with hand motions), eye, mouth, nose, ear, teeth (every time you get your diaper changed), and yummy.

Words you have added: GiGi, Pete, Tia, that

Words I wish you would say: Help! :)

Words you can repeat: Pancake, necklace (seriously surprised me with this one, as clear as a bell), orange, excited (as reported by teachers)

First sentence: Hi, Tia. (As reported by your Tia when she picked you up one day)

You move to the Parrots class next week which makes me so sad. It means you are growing up and becoming a little person more than a baby.

We love you sweet girl! Happy Half Birthday!
