We were about 12 hours into the broken heater on Saturday morning and I was wondering what in the world we would do that day to get out of the house. At that point, we just thought it was a part that needed fixing. We bundled all the kids into Rad's room for naps and I checked my email to see that siblings were invited to the birthday party Emmy would be attending that afternoon.
SCORE!
At first, Radley declined until he heard it was at PowerSports and then he was in. And he got to hang with an old friend from his WDS days - he was so pumped to see Kameron.
There was lots of bouncing and playing and running and sliding and giggling, but I decided to stay put and chat it up with other mommas instead of chasing them around getting the same picture over and over again. I know, crazy talk.
But kids with green icing goatees are too much to pass up.
And Emmy actually ate more than just the icing, which was a total shock. She usually stops at the cake. Maybe she's trying to bulk up for the cold.
It seems that things ended rather well, then. It was nice that a mishap like your heater breaking lead to a jolly good time at a party with you and your kids. I hope that heater did get fixed, so that you'll have lesser problems going forward.

Hi Lane! Well, it didn't get fixed - but we did get a whole new furnace out of it! Not an expected way to start the year, but thankful that we were warm! Thanks for stopping by!
