Way back in April when I started thinking about Miss E's party, I wrote down a list of her favorite things. I knew that a pool party was a must, because what's the point of having a summer birthday? BUT, I wanted to make sure that it had that bit of Emmy flair.
(yes, there are lots of "I" statements... Emmy wasn't planning her own party. Yet.)
The list included:
dolls
Mickey/Minnie
make up
dress up
All of which would make a cute party theme, but then it hit me..."toes painted" is a Saturday ritual... how CUTE would "pedis by the pool" be!!
And so a theme was born and with the help of an amazing student/friend, the invites were created!
(Doesn't Lauryn need to open up an Etsy shop!?!?)
Emmy requested vanilla cupcakes with pink icing so for her "cake" she got 3 cupcakes to match the party colors from a local bakery. The rest of the guests enjoyed some HEB specials (please don't judge that cupcake stand - the icing was melting a little).
I knew that there was no where to hang a birthday banner, so my sweet brother loaded up "the fence" and hauled it to the pool to add to the decor.
(Y'all. The only think bad about this "fence" is that we only made one. Seriously. Make one of these - it is pretty much the best prop ever.)
Lauryn also made some cute labels for the food table. We just had some easy munchies for everyone to snack on since the party was between breakfast and lunch.
And we even set up a "pedi station" for the kiddos - this was a big hit!
All that was left was the table for gifts and party favors.
$1 sunglasses from the party store = best favor ever.
Seriously, Emmy is obsessed with hers.
Once we were all set up we snapped a few pics...
(Of course we matched. What did you expect?)
;)
The King and I and our sweet 3-year-old Princess...
The Prince, Princess and Duchess...
Gigi and Pops...
Uncle Pete...
And MaMaw...
And one of the birthday girl all on her own...
Now it was time to party...
