Surf's Up...

By far Emmy's two favorite Christmas presents (from someone other than Santa) were her Frozen CD and the Teen Beach Movie - both from her Aunt Jenni. We have listened to and/or watched these two items approximately 108520 times. And Emmy LOVES them. So much so that she decided she wanted a Teen Beach Movie birthday "pawty" at the pool. 

So of course we obliged and I think it turned out to be a great way to celebrate our 4 year-old surfer girl!

I ADORE a pool party. 

1. Everyone loves the pool

2. Easy set up

3. Easy execution because everyone is entertained by the pool

4. Fun for all ages

5. Limited decorations are needed

We didn't buy a thing. We reused or borrowed everything and it turned out fantastically.

Emmy wanted the following items: grapes, gold fish, oranges, strawberries and white donuts. Done. And super cute to serve them in sand buckets. We also had snow cones and a Teen Beach Move cake (that the birthday girl may or may not have dropped and we may or may not have added the blue and pink leis to cover up the missing icing).

Then it was all fun for everyone!

Emmy was S-T-U-C-K to her Pops but I don't think he minded.

Landry was showing off her new swim skills.

I followed Emmy around for a bit to see what she would do and who she would play with. It was a little windy so she got cold pretty easily and decided being out in the sun was more fun than in the water. 

But we would coax her back in every once in a while.

Luckily, it was time for cake so she had plenty of time to warm up...

and energy to blow out FOUR candles!

She was all smiles for Miss Shanon...

and everyone seemed to be having fun.

Especially this tiny tot. I may need to install these water spouts in our backyard. We are talking HOURS of entertainment.

And just like that, she was officially FOUR. 

We hung around for a bit to get in some extra swim time.

And Pops cuddles.

But soon it was time to head home...

because some of us were WORN OUT.

Emmy was ready for round 3(!) of presents and boy did she get spoiled. Her friends know her so well and showered her with so much love!

The birthday girl picked Pei Wei for dinner and wouldn't you know it, she got lucky number 4 for our table.
