This is the face of our newly crowned FIVE year old. I can't believe it - Emersyn is five and my head totally comprehends this but my heart refuses to accept the same.
But 5 looks pretty darn good on her...
At 5 she is content. Seriously, Emmy is the most easy going of our brood. She is happy with the little things and doesn't dwell on the small stuff. (She does not get this from me!) No candles at her party? No big deal! Her cake gets smashed? Don't think twice about it. Skipping dance lessons? Forget about it. What a blessing her contentment is to us!
At 5 she is determined. She doesn't give in easily - she tries to figure things out on her own and doesn't quit. When Landry figured out how to put her hair in a pony tail before Emersyn, she was frustrated. But she used that frustration to motivate her to learn the same skill. I see this in her all the time and she never ceases to amaze me with her can-do attitude!
At 5 she is happy. She is thrilled with the big and excited about the little. She just finds joy in all that she does.
Opening presents...
hanging with her siblings...
learning something new...
she is joyful.
At 5 she is creative. There are very few sounds I love more than hearing her play make believe. She can think up any game and become any person and just play for hours. Her tiny voice piping in for me to play along brings a smile to my face and warms my heart.
At 5 she is loved and adored. She is ours - whole heartedly and without question. She is a gift that we are thankful for every day. The opportunity to love her, teach her, nourish her, help her, support her, protect her, challenge her is a blessing.
She has been loved more fiercely in her first five years than some people are loved their whole lives. She is precious and proud and petite. She is kind. She is smart. She is strong. She is capable and brave and quiet and loud. She is more than I could have prayed for and now my prayers are that I hope she always knows all of this and more.
We love you, Emersyn. With all of our hearts for all of our lives.
Precious girl. She sounds a lot like my Carly.
