Watermelon Popsicles...

Have y'all clicked over and discovered The Dish yet? If you haven't then you need to immediately. (Well, maybe finish reading this and then click over.) They did a great post on their #BCSSummerBucketList and are talking about items they check off each Wednesday.

This year we didn't make our own bucket list - we used the one that Emmy's class created (teachers made) just like the year Rad finished Pre-K and we have done a pretty good job of checking some things off the list. We flew kites and went fishing on Mother's Day, build forts once a week, host dance offs on the regular, enjoyed Emmy's pool party, and of course had a fun water balloon fight on the last day of school

Now time to amaze you with my fancy list taped to my kitchen cabinet.

I appreciate how simple these items are - I don't ever want to feel like I "HAVE" to get something done in summer and then feel like I failed if I didn't. I love Shelly's take on this feeling and her idea to create a "Not So Bummer Summer!" We were ready to cross one more item off yesterday and decided to make popsicles - not just any popsicle homemade watermelon popsicles.

Because we are fancy like that.

Now this gets complicated so grab a pen. You will need:

1. 2 cups ripe watermelon, seeded and sliced
2. Blender
3. Popsicle holders
4. Splash of water

Oh and two adorable helpers.

Throw everything in the blender, hold your ears and turn it on.

Mix until liquid-y.

Pour in popsicle holders.

Cover.

Then let freeze, put on your favorite ballerina outfit and enjoy.

Emmy and Radley didn't care for them as much as their typical kool aid blended frozen sugar pop, but Landry and I both loved them.

I've already though of blended flavors we could try:
Kiwi watermelon
Pineapple strawberry
Strawberry watermelon
Pineapple kiwi

What flavors would you make?

Happy summer everyone! No matter what is (or isn't) on your list - hope you are taking things slow, enjoying the sun and having fun!

If you're looking for more fun summer ideas, head on over to Holly's!
