So we've been checking off items since Sunday evening and Emersyn has had the most fun. It's taught her a bit of patience because she doesn't get a gift every day, but life's hard for a 5 year-old.
1. Learn from others
I once again sent emails to our nearest and dearest asking for their best advice for Emmy as she enters kindergarten - what is the one "lesson" they think she should learn.
I love this - it's fun to read the difference in what they told Radley and, honestly, some of these are good reminders for me, too! This year was extra fun because Radley read the lessons to her and then gave his own little interpretation for each one.
Some of them needed no explanation.
;)
2. Practice our morning routine
This was on everybody's list. Nine weeks of falling asleep where and when we wanted and waking up with nothing to do has gotten us all a little out of practice. So far everyone has been ok... I think by the end of the week we will be set!
3. Get new school supplies
We started night 3 with more lesson reading by Radley...
and then she FINALLY got to open a package.
We have already gotten all her items on the school list, but she didn't know that we had ordered her backpack...
and when she figured it out, she was SO STINKING EXCITED!
She was also pretty pumped about the matching lunchbox with super fun bento box inside.
(Radley took a long hard look at that and decided he may **need** a new one, too).
She's all ready...
now if I could just convince myself.
First of all, you have the best taste in children's names. Seriously, all of your kids have adorable names. I saw a photo on Crystal Faye's instagram (maybe it was even for you!) with the name Emersyn and have been in love with it ever since. Don't be surprised if I have my own Emmy one day! She looks so happy with her new stuff :)
ReplyDeleteI'll have to check her out! We do love their names, it's funny how well they suit them. She has definitely been having fun with this check list! :)
ReplyDeleteCan you PLEASE get your kiddos into modeling?! I would buy anything they were selling!
ReplyDeleteHaha! Sometimes I think that's the route to go - they could get paid to be cute and it would be expected of them to be difficult. :)
